Performance characteristics of thick-walled square tube

Most of the square tubes are mostly steel tubes, which are unpacked, flattened, crimped, welded to form a round tube, and then rolled into a square tube from the round tube and then cut to the required length (such as a500 square tube). The thick-walled square tube is a hollow square cross-section light-duty thick-walled steel tube, also known as steel cold-formed profile. It is a section steel with a square cross-section shape and size made of Q235 hot-rolled or cold-rolled strip or coil as the base material, which is cold-bent and then high-frequency welded. In addition to the thickened wall thickness of the hot-rolled extra-thick-walled square tube, its corner size and edge straightness have reached or even exceeded the level of the resistance-welded cold-formed square tube.

1. Large format
The world's largest Nippon Steel 26-inch square tube production line has a maximum specification of 550mm*550mm*22mm. At present, the largest specification of square and rectangular tubes in European and American countries is 400*400*12.7mm.

2. High strength
In order to reduce self-weight and improve safety performance such as earthquake resistance and impact resistance, high-strength steel has been widely used in thick-walled square pipes, and the material strength limit has reached 630MPa or even higher.

3. The product is super thick
The maximum thickness of square and rectangular tubes produced by the process is up to 19mm. The ultra-thickness is not only reflected in the absolute thickness, but also in the relative thickness of the product. The thickness is an important indicator of the difficulty of cold forming, and the square tube is expressed by the side thickness ratio.

4. Fire resistance
The cold-formed large-scale thick-walled square tube made of B490RNQ hot-rolled steel fully meets and exceeds the requirements of the national standard Q345B in terms of mechanical properties at room temperature. Its forming performance is equivalent to or better than that of Q345B, and its yield strength ratio meets the requirements of the national construction industry regulations on earthquake resistance. At the same time, its high temperature performance is significantly better than that of the same level of Q345B
