Schedule 40 pipe

What is the pipe schedule (pipe SCH)?
SCH is the abbreviation of schedule, which generally appears in American steel pipe standards. It is the prefix of a serial number. For example, SCH10, SCH40, SCH80, etc., corresponding to the above series numbers, you will find the corresponding wall thickness of each specification of steel pipe on the steel pipe-size table. This is a good way to standardize and serialize the size of steel pipes. The schedule number on a pipe is related to the thickness of the pipe wall. As the number increases, the wall thickness becomes thicker.

What is schedule 40 pipe?
Sch40(such as Sch40 seamless pipe ) in a pipe indicates tensile strength, 40 kg pressure. It is indicated by a standard thickness of 4.0 mm. ANSI B36.10 wall thickness: Sch10, Sch20, Sch30, Sch40, Sch60, Sch80, Sch100, Sch120, Sch140, Sch160 ten levels.

Galvanizing method of schedule 40 pipe
The main galvanizing method for schedule 40 pipes is hot-dip galvanizing(Galvanized Pipe). Hot-dip galvanizing reacts molten metal with the iron matrix to produce an alloy layer, thereby combining the matrix and the coating. Hot-dip galvanizing is to pickle the steel parts first. In order to remove the iron oxide on the surface of the steel parts, after pickling, they are cleaned in an aqueous solution of ammonium chloride or zinc chloride or a mixed aqueous solution of ammonium chloride and zinc chloride and then sent into the hot dip plating tank. Hot-dip galvanizing has the advantages of uniform coating, strong adhesion, and long service life.
