Classification of composite pipes

Composite pipes are pipes based on a composite structure of metal and thermoplastic plastic. The inner and outer layers are made of non-metallic materials such as polyethylene and polypropylene. The middle layer is a metal structure, and the composite pipe is combined with special hot melt adhesive and has the advantages of metal pipes and non-metal pipes.

Composite pipes include

1. Aluminum-plastic composite pipe
The aluminum-plastic composite pipe is a five-layer pipe with a layer of welded aluminum alloy in the middle, a layer of polyethylene on the inside and outside, and a glued layer. It has the advantages of good corrosion resistance of polyethylene plastic pipes and high pressure resistance of metal pipes. Aluminum-plastic composite pipes are divided into two types according to different polyethylene materials: cross-linked polyethylene aluminum-plastic composite pipes suitable for hot water and high-density polyethylene aluminum-plastic composite pipes suitable for cold water. The specifications of aluminum-plastic composite pipes range from Φ14 to Φ32, and are connected by clamping copper fittings. They are mainly used for water distribution branch pipes and water heater pipes in buildings.

2. Steel-plastic composite pipe
Steel-plastic composite pipes are based on seamless pipes and welded steel pipes, and the inner wall of the pipe is coated with high adhesion, anti-corrosion, food-grade hygienic polyethylene powder coating or epoxy resin coating. There are also some steel-plastic composite pipes that are made of UPVC plastic with a certain thickness on the inner wall of the galvanized pipe. The preheated interior coating or interior coating leveling process is used, and the interior coating or interior resin coating process is used to inherit the rigid support ability of the steel pipe and the hygienic ability of the plastic pipe. It is used in various fields such as oil and natural gas transportation, industrial and mining pipes, drainage pipes, cold water pipes, etc. This kind of pipe can also be seen in building water supply.

3. Aluminum alloy plastic lined composite pipe
The outer pipe of the aluminum alloy-lined plastic composite pipe is an aluminum alloy pipe, and the inner pipe is a thermoplastic plastic pipe. The outer aluminum alloy not only functions as an oxygen barrier, but more importantly, plays a structural bearing role. Suitable for domestic hot and cold water pipes, divided into hot and cold separate types and hot and cold universal types.

4. Plastic coated steel pipe
Plastic-coated steel pipes are made by melting a layer of polyethylene PE resin, ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer EAA, epoxy EP powder, non-toxic polypropylene PP or non-toxic polyvinyl chloride PVC and other organic substances on the inner wall of the steel pipe with a thickness of 0.5 ~ 1.0mm. Internally coated plastic composite steel pipes made by preheating internal coating or internal coating leveling process. In this way, the high strength and resistance to water flow impact of the steel pipe are retained, and the shortcomings of steel pipes such as easy corrosion, pollution, scaling, and poor fire protection performance when exposed to water are effectively alleviated. There are also steel composite pipes composed of the above methods for galvanizing water supply, which can be called upgraded products of traditional galvanized pipes.

5. Steel frame tube
The steel frame PE pipe is a double-sided anti-corrosion pressure pipe formed by continuous film drawing using high-quality low-carbon steel wire as the reinforcing phase and high-density polyethylene as the matrix. The steel wire is spot welded into a mesh and plastic extrusion and filling are performed simultaneously. Pipe diameter is Φ 50 ~ Φ 500, flange connection, mainly used in municipal, chemical and oil field pipeline networks. The steel wire skeleton is developed on the basis of mesh steel strip steel plastic pipe. Because the mesh-shaped steel strip has lost its high-pressure resistance and oxygen-barrier properties, it only plays a partial pressure-bearing role, and the steel strip forming and butt welding are difficult processes. The braided steel wire wrapped around the pipe wall can also play a pressure-bearing role, and the steel wire skeleton steel-plastic pipe has appeared. The performance of this pipe is basically similar to that of the perforated steel strip steel-plastic pipe.
